Many times when people buy new or used cars, they are looking to find the best deal possible, and if that means foregoing a few features that they think they probably won’t need anyway. One of the most commonly given-up features is cruise control, since a lot of drivers think they probably won’t use it enough for it to make much difference. They later find, however, that they could actually benefit from the convenience of having cruise control in their cars, and seek out a way to add that feature after purchase. For more than 25 years, we’ve sold and installed complete cruise control kits for a variety of makes and models, including Ford.

After his death, they were converted into a monastery that was a center of spiritual and social activity during the medieval period. The original building was destroyed in a fire in the early 19th century and later rebuilt in the Bulgarian Renaissance style in the mid-1800s. You’ll find stunning religious art and colorful architecture, including golden domes and striped archways. Dating to the fourth century, this tiny circular Roman building is the oldest preserved structure in Sofia and sits undisturbed amongst other Roman ruins. The red brick building was built in the 4th century on a site that was believed to be an even older pagan temple.

Winter (December-March) is the quietest time of year to visit, as temperatures drop below freezing. The weather can be snowy and unpredictable during this time. If you like winter sports, this is the best time to visit for skiing Mount Vitosha or nearby Bansko. If you’re not coming for winter activities, though, I’d skip a visit during the winter. Grocery shopping is incredibly affordable here, costing around BGN per week for basic staples like rice, pasta, seasonal produce, and some meat. Airbnb is available all over the city, with private rooms starting at BGN per night.

Top 5 Things to See and Do in Sofia

These are unlicensed drivers and many of them are just waiting to scam a tourist. The most convenient way to get from Sofia airport to the city is by private transfer costing from 24 euros one way. The cheapest way is by taking the metro at 1.60 Bulgarian lev (0.82 euros). Sofia International Airport is located around 10km (6.2 miles) from the city center. Despite being the largest airport in Bulgaria and having two terminals, it is quite small and easy to navigate.

Originally a bathhouse, the interior is painted with magnificent murals that date between the 6th and 14th centuries. In total there are five layers of ornate frescos that were painted over when the church was converted into a mosque during Ottoman rule. They were only uncovered during the church’s restoration in the 20th century. The rotunda and the ruins are surrounded by modern government buildings and preserved in a large courtyard that remains open to the public. The small church holds weekday services so just dress respectfully.

To save me time and avoid any hassle, you can book a private transfer from Sofia airport to the city. You’ll book and pay for it online, so there’s no need to worry about having Bulgarian lev when you land. At Terminal 1, their office is located to the right of the arrivals gate, next to the car rental desks. At Terminal 2, the OK Supertrans taxi desk is right opposite the arrivals hall gate. This is especially true if you arrive late at night or in the early hours. I will be updating this as soon as all airport transport services resume.

If the brake lights and idle are working as expected, it’s time to take the car to a deserted parking lot.

I never go on a trip without it as I’ve had to use it many times in the past. I personally think the best time to visit is spring (April-May) or fall (September-October). Both seasons have pleasant temperatures, fewer tourist crowds, and lower prices.

Its city center is filled with grand historic buildings, beautiful churches, nice cafes and good restaurants. When it comes to scams, if a stranger stops to talk to you out of the blue, be aware that they may be working in a team to try and grab your wallet. Some taxi drivers have been known to overcharge their customers, so make sure your driver has a metered cab before you get in it.

For the best in driving experience, choose a cruise control from Rostra, the leader in cruise control technology. Kits are designed for specifically vehicles and provide all the necessary gear. If you are an international customer and would like to change the currency that prices are displayed in, you can do so here. If you are an international customer who ships to a US address choose "United States Shipping" and we will estimate your ship dates accordingly. I hope you found the information above useful and that you could choose the transport option from Sofia Airport to the city centre that suits you best. If you’re going to the Central Train Station, you’ll have to change to the blue line at Serdika Station, direction Obelya.

Sofia has four distinct seasons, of which summer (June-August) is the busiest. June can be quite rainy, but otherwise, the daily temperature is usually over 30°C (86°F). Keep in mind that this is the most expensive time to visit, as prices for hostels and hotels increase. Car rental – Car rentals are super affordable here, costing as little as 25 BGN per day.

One is located on the port side, while the other is across the ship on the starboard side. Here, you will have the option to book shore excursions, drink packages, specialty restaurants, internet packages and more. Cap off a day’s worth of discoveries with a friendly faceoff at Playmakers℠ Sports Bar & Arcade. Or sip on your favorite vacation-mode libations at The Lime and Coconut® — two stories of turned up Caribbean cool, plus a rooftop sun deck that turns into a moonlit lounge spot once the sun goes down. These are big ships, and are great for a special occasion, group of friends, or first time cruiser.

Freedom of the Seas Guide & Review

The good news for those of you worried about excessive crowds is that, as is the case with the Icon Class ships, the Oasis Class ships don't necessarily feel as crowded as they are. Royal Caribbean designed them with a "neighborhood" concept that spreads passengers out in seven or eight (depending on the ship) distinct areas, such as the Pool and Sports Zone and the Boardwalk amusement zone. A lot of thought went into how passengers move between these neighborhoods, too.

Keep in mind, though, that the biggest megaresorts on land are even bigger. The biggest resort in the U.S. — The Venetian in Las Vegas — has 7,092 rooms. That means it can hold more than 14,000 guests, assuming there are two people per room. The over-the-top megaresort experience on a Royal Caribbean ship varies from class to class, though. Schooner Bar is a nautical-themed watering hole with trivia and piano music. Wine lovers enjoy Vintages, where you can taste to your heart’s content and then pair your favorite vino with some tapas or charcuterie.

In addition to an indoor hangout spot, teens also have access to Social 033, a private outdoor space with lounge chairs and a selfie station. Parents may also opt to bring their children to Play Place, an indoor playground, but as this space is unsupervised parents must be with their children at all times. Freedom of the Seas follows Royal Caribbean’s updated Adventure Ocean programming, which is focused on giving kids more freedom and flexibility in choosing activities that they are interested in doing. Craft stations, dodgeball, video games, books, science experiments, and more are available to kids throughout the day. Aft-View Extended Balcony staterooms feature a larger balcony for more lounge-around room, more kick-back space... Not to even mention some of the best stern-side views you'll find anywhere.

Coming in at 1,112 ft long and 185 ft wide, it's roughly the length of 3.1 football fields, as wide as 3.5 tractor trailers, and the same height as a 14-story building. When it launched, Carnival Freedom represented a major step on a trajectory that hurtled Carnival Cruise Lines toward its current position as a family-friendly, multigenerational cruise line. Carnival has always offered value, but within the past decade or so, it has set its focus on families. That's not to say the Carnival Freedom ship doesn't offer adults the chance to live it up, however.

Ben & Jerry’s Suite

The vessels also have multiple pool areas, a water park, a miniature golf course and a rock climbing wall on their top decks (which are among the most activity-packed at sea). The newest and largest ship in the series, Wonder of the Seas, has the most differences from the other Oasis Class vessels. At 236,857 tons, it's about 4% bigger than the next biggest ship in the series; the extra space is devoted to such additions as a dedicated suite area with a private lounge, a restaurant and a sun deck. Inside the vessels, you'll find more lounges, bars, restaurants and shops than you can imagine — plus huge casinos, spas and showrooms with Broadway-style shows.

If you can't live without those sorts of features on a cruise ship, the Radiance class probably isn't for you. Once the largest cruise ships in the world, these Royal Caribbean ships can accommodate slightly less than 4,000 passengers at double occupancy. All those passengers can look forward to plenty of specialty restaurant choices, and even Broadway shows on two of the ships, such as "Saturday Night Fever" and "Grease." Liberty of the Seas is the second Freedom-class cruise ship for Royal Caribbean, following Freedom of the Seas. It was built in 18 months in Finland and was delivered in April 2007, before embarking on its maiden voyage in May 2007. With 15 passenger decks, Liberty of the Seas can accommodate, on average, 3,634 passengers and 1,300 crew members.

things you should know before cruising onboard Freedom of the Seas

Because Liberty of the Seas just repositioned from Galveston to Fort Lauderdale, there will be many cruisers onboard this ship for the very first time. To make sure you are as prepared as possible for a cruise on Liberty of the Seas, we’re sharing our top 10 hidden secrets that you shouldn’t overlook. If you’re looking to treat yourself during your Freedom of the Seas cruise, consider booking a suite. A variety of suites are available, from Owner’s Suites to 1 or 2-bedroom Grand Suites. This can be an excellent spot to take a morning walk or watch the sunset.

Freedom of the Seas Features and Activities

Outside of casitas, the pool deck has a variety of seating, from pool chairs to comfy loungers. The adults-only Solarium is also located on the Freedom of the Seas pool deck. Unlike on some other ships, the Freedom of the Seas Solarium is not enclosed, so the pool is in direct sunlight. There are plenty of seating areas and jacuzzis located within the shade, however, and the pool chairs in the Solarium are padded, making for an extra comfy place to relax.

freedom class cruise ship

Liberty of the Seas is a Royal Caribbean International Freedom-class cruise ship which entered regular service in May 2007. It was initially announced that she would be called Endeavour of the Seas, however this name was later changed.[4] The 15-deck ship accommodates 3,634 passengers served by 1,360 crew. She was built in 18 months at the Aker Finnyards Turku Shipyard, Finland, where her sister ship, Freedom of the Seas, was also built.

Karaoke is a popular nighttime activity onboard any Royal Caribbean cruise ship, but Liberty of the Seas has a separate karaoke venue, the On Air club. Located on deck 3 by the Studio B ice-skating rink, this area of the ship is often overlooked due to areas like the theater and Royal Promenade. While most people spend a Royal Caribbean cruise enjoying activities, entertainment, and lounging by the pool, some guests are looking for a quiet space to relax. All Radiance, Voyager, and Freedom Class cruise ships provide guests access to the helicopter pad. Located in the front of the ship, this spot is one of the best places to watch sailaway on Liberty of the Seas. Planning for a class of small, multipurpose warships to operate in the littoral zone began in the early 2000s.

Two ships were approved, to compete with the Independence-class design offered by General Dynamics and Austal for a construction contract of up to fifty-five vessels. Interior cabins are the most basic of staterooms, offering no window, balcony, or natural light. While basic, they offer an excellent value while still providing a comfy place to rest your head at night. Interior cabins can be a nice choice for those who want to plan a budget cruise, would rather save money on a stateroom to splurge on extras like a drink or dining package, or who don’t plan on spending much time in their cabin. Because Freedom of the Seas tends to only sail short cruises, it’s unlikely you’ll be spending much time in your stateroom.

A sixth ship in the Oasis Class series, Utopia of the Seas, is scheduled to debut in July. Construction of the vessel began in April 2022 at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in St. Nazaire, France — the same shipyard that built Wonder of the Seas. A handful of restaurants also differ from ship to ship in the series. Royal Caribbean has also used some Quantum Class ships for sailings out of China.

Dentistry Unlocks: Secrets to Plugging Cavities Between Teeth

Dentistry Unlocks: Secrets to Plugging Cavities Between Teeth

Dental caries, commonly known as cavities, are a prevalent oral health issue affecting individuals of all ages. They arise from the demineralization of tooth enamel, the hard, protective coating over our teeth, caused by acids produced by bacteria in the mouth. Left untreated, cavities can lead to pain, infection, and tooth loss.

Fortunately, dentists can effectively fill cavities between teeth, a crucial procedure in preserving oral health. This restorative treatment involves removing the decayed portion of the tooth, cleaning the affected area to eliminate any remaining bacteria, and filling the cavity with a suitable material, such as dental amalgam or composite resin. Filling cavities not only prevents further decay but also restores the tooth's strength and functionality, alleviating pain and discomfort.
